Hal, My utmost desire is to tell people about the saving power of Christ. But I also believe that as you mentioned many are taught from childhood different beliefs. This is imprinted on their mind and is seen as absolute truth.

However, it is each person's responsibility to question the beliefs taught by another. My folks were brought up on the religion of the Oral Roberts era and later in life I sought my own understanding of the Word. I have deserted the extreme fundamentalism and false teachings of my parents because I have a mature adult mind that seeks truth, not some others understanding of truths that they have been mistakenly taught, no matter how sincere. This adult seeking for truth is imo, only inherent in a minority because it takes an open mind and study which is painful for many. For me, experience was my greatest teacher. It gave me enough humility to ask God to show me truth and error. He honored my prayers, I believe. I still will be seeking truth as long as I live because one can never know the ultimate reality of pure truth until they enter Heaven.

I respect your beliefs but I hope that we can be tolerant of each other and avoid name calling.

Santi
