Which means very little, since most of that is tied up in stocks and bonds, which keep the wheels of industry turning; or purchasing big ticket items, and thus keeping luxury industries going; or in hiring service people, and thus directly providing jobs; and so forth. It is silly to act as if there is just a big pile of cash under a mattress, instead of money invested or circulated to support sectors of the economy.......
