When I dig out my bibles from all the books that just arrived I will find you some exact quotes so you can find them. There are commands to kill Canaanites and also all kinds of wrongdoers. Murderers of course, adulteress, idolators, Sabbath violators... a long list. How many were ever killed for these crimes is dubious just as fewer Canaanites were killed than the Bible likes to boast. There is a commandment to eradicate the whole nation of Amaleq. Canaanites could be spared if they were willing to be second class citizens or slaves. But the Amaleqi are to be totally wiped out. Jews are commanded not to forget to kill Amaleq in every generation until their memory is destroyed. David
