If we don't invade Iraq, what are we going to do with them?

Use them to undermine Saddam and protect US assets while they're doing it. The Gulf states are slowly going democratic and this is causing lots of anxiety, if not fury, amongst the mullocracy/kleptocracy crowd.

Suppose the UN Council motion goes through. Inspectors get into Iraq and mess up some of the WMD program; in the meantime US gets to undermine Saddam some more. More prisoners get released while S's grip on the country is lessened.

US State Dept has been in the non Saddam part of Iraq for at least a year..CIA has finally opened an office in the North. You will see more alternative local government appearing in the no fly zones and the no fly zones will expand. Such military forces as exist in these areas are going to need advisors and, once Saddam is forced to action by this chiseling, backup as already required by UN resolutions.

US will have to invade Iraq anyway, despite Carl's advice. How much money do you think Saddam is offering the N Koreans? The US has forces all over the Gulf. I think the US timetable is shortening. If the US retreats from the area because Saddam has a bomb, then the islamofascist terrorist attacks on the modern world will increase as will their support and funding. That crowd is expansionist and will see US withdrawal as a sign of progress to be followed up.
