Email is not private in most cases. Using the normally hidden header information in most emails I can track the sender down in a matter of minutes if I care to. For people sending from their work, it is frequently possible to identify the company, and even the workstation number. That is why SI and especially PMs are far superior to email for those of us truly wishing to stay anonymous.

Wrong again Solon of Athens. Not only is SI not democratic you don't even own your own post after you submit.
