accounting firms. there was a big 8 for years. there were loads of mergers leading to the big 8. they were huge- waaaay bigger than the biggest law firms. then there were six. then there were only 4. arthur anderson is gone. much has been made of it. they are labeled as much more aggressive and crooked than the others. when fraud is uncovered one expects them to have been the accountants. now, ernst & young has its tit in the wringer re a chicago bank, inter alia
