A GOP Sweep in the Making?

A new poll suggests that November 5th could be Democrat National Chairman Terry McAuliffe's worst nightmare come true.

Republicans, the poll shows, may be on the verge of an historic victory that will upset the common belief that the party in the White House always loses congressional seats in the midterm elections.

The new poll about to be to be released Sunday shows the GOP with a seven point lead over Democrats among likely voters, according to the Drudge Report.

Moreover, the New York Times-CBS poll shows that 40 percent of likely voters believe that Republicans have a "clear plan for the country," as opposed to just 34 percent who believe that the Democrats do.

The election eve poll showed that 47 percent of likely voters would vote Republican while only 40 percent would vote Democrat, Matt Drudge reports. The results are at odds with the predictions of other pollsters and political experts who have consistently maintained that the majority of voters will choose Democrat candidates over Republicans on November 5th.

The results also back up Republican claims that they will expand their majority in the House and regain control of the Senate.
