My only point was that email, in most cases,
is not conducive to maintaining anonymity;
SI messaging, both public and private, is.

If I have an SI conversation with someone that leads to my receipt of an "I'm going to get you" message, I can feel fairly confident that tracking me down would be difficult.

You ask if email header info is in the public domain? I only say that it is freely available to the recipient who can chose what he wishes to do with it and suffer whatever consequences may follow.
