Regarding that forecast, it raises a question or two about historical precedent for market moves ahead of election day and/or FOMC announcements.

While generally we think of these as "rally events", the action immediately preceding the "day of" is of interest.

Does anyone have any historical data on market movement the day before and day of an election?

Similarly, what is the norm for the Monday and Tuesday preceding a 2 Day FOMC meeting/announcement?

Thanks,

Phoenix

Not many people are talking about the election's impact on the market. Or is that a foregone conclusion? It likely would make a difference to taxation policy or not?
