i got it working okay now, tc.... it was definitely browser related, because i uninstalled ie6,sp1, which rolled me back to my previous browser version, ie5.5 and bingo! the Confirm File Replace dialog shows up on cue like it used to! so now i have to ask myself how bad do i want to try upgrading again to ie6,sp1? <g> i think i'll go there again soon, but first i'll stick with 5.5 a while and see if some of the other minor browser glitches i was experiencing have cleared up as well. just wanted to tie up that loose end :) mark
