This idiotic statement makes no sense: The biggest problem he has with Bush's White House is a pattern of lying that McGovern believes rivals that of Nixon's. For example, "Bush has said repeatedly that Saddam Hussein threw the international arms inspectors out of Iraq, but that's not true. We withdrew our inspectors.

Saddam Hussein effectively kicked out the inspectors by making their environment so inhospitable that we had to withdraw them. That's not a lie, it's a statement of fact. You can't make Bush into a liar just by repeating over and over again crap like this. We all know he's an effective an honorable leader--the right man for the job at the right time.

McGovern has the right to say what he wants. Just because he flew a bomber does not make him right. My father-in-law flew a B-17 and he says just the opposite. My brother-in-law flew a B-52, and he says just the opposite. McGovern was a peacenik from the Vietnam era. That was a war thought up by JFK and Lyndon Johnson, and they both served in WWII. Just because they fought in WWII doesn't make the Vietnam war a good war. It doesn't make it a bad war either. What made it a bad war was they didn't articulate the reasons for waging it; in fact, they lied about the reasons for waging it. If people had understood the reasons for it, that disgraceful era in our history might have turned out differently.

You can pretty much bet predict anything said in front of a bunch of "Nation" subscribers on a cruise ship. Just because McGovern is the one they paid to say it doesn't make it right.

thanks for that link.........it's good to see that I am not the only person who thinks that Bush is a phony, lying, sack of nonsense.

I also fear that Bush's war will unleash a renewed group of vigilant suicide bombers into our midst.

Most Europeans realize that Bush ( please don't believe that I actually think he makes any decisions so I should say his advisors and those that donate the money to his campaigns) is really after the oil .

When Bush was thrown into office I told all of my friends that we would be attacking Iraq during his terms in office.................surprise, surprise!!! This whole thing is about the agenda set forth by his father. There has never been any doubt in my mind that Bush's Dad is behind the this upcoming attack on Iraq.

We haven't even stopped Al Quada yet.............we are still having high level alerts based on their movements................we can't afford to have our attention diverted from Al Quada.............they are, by far, our principle threat. Attacking Iraq will just deliver more Arabs into their ranks.

Saudi Arabia has done more to harm this country than Iraq has...................How many of the terrorists from 9/11 were from that country?
