Well, it is my opinion, and it is on the record that "alias" (as well as "persona") was intentionally misused by people to disassociate the reality of the poster from the alternate name being used. It was pissy all the way through, and it was contrived...and incredibly stupid.

I'm on your side in that one. The problem with an exterior "obligation" is that not only do people judge you, but they COMPEL you. But, of course, I understand that Neo is speaking from a philosophical abstract, and these matters can be discussed in such a paradigm if one is into it.
