Hi Padco,

Valiquette says KUDCo will likely price the drug 25 percent below Prilosec's $3.69 wholesale per-pill price. Typically, the price of a generic drug drops to 50 percent below the brand-name's price after six months, when numerous companies enter the market.

So that was $369 for a bottle of 100 and the generic plans
to sell for $184.50 with a 50% price drop being typical.

Nice find.

Its logical to infer that if one generic enters the price
decline is somewhat less than 50%. In the Canadian market
whose patent expires first, it's interesting to speculate
whether a competitor will enter then or wait until the
more lucrative US market also opens up.

The strong irritant of waiting in November is offset
somewhat by the conclusion that the FDA would not be
discussing labelling issues (per DMX) after the submission
had been completed (per DMX) if there were other elements
in the submission warranting a rejection. Instead of
coming back to clear up a labelling issue identified by
the director - a rejection would have been issued then.

I got to see Pennsaid work 1st hand on a muscle overuse
injury. It felt slightly like a clear oil. There was
no rash or mark of any kind. The injury was on a knee
which my close friend hobbled over. He was in some pain
when he bent the knee.

Within 5 minutes he said it felt over 80% better and within
1/2 hour he was getting up and sitting down as he spoke
without noticing he was moving around. Hours later he
felt the same. He applied 4 drops and lightly spread it
in an area about a 3 inch diameter.

Thanks to the kind individual who arranged the Pennsaid.
It's now going to a person who truly suffers from the
pain of arthritis.

Wolf

PS - Pennsaid was working over 6 hours later just as
effectively without a re-application.
