On a lighter note --G-- I would think that this rally would cure quite a number of recent converts to bearishness of shorting stocks.

There's no new money going into mutual funds, no important stock buybacks, and a move as explosive as this has got to be forced--or so it seems to me--in part by margin calls on short positions.

Any lurkers here from brokers who know what's happening? I haven't read any anecdotal evidence.
