Tsunamis are definitely a concern from Alaska earthquakes. The big one in 1963 caused damage in California.

I had a big poster in my office of an island that was practically wiped off the face of the earth after that one. You could still see the place where the water washed over the whole island and took trees and everything else with it. Definitely a nuclear blast type of energy release just from that one wave in one spot.

There may be some severe problems in rural areas up by Fairbanks, which is over a thousand miles from here. Fortunately the epicenter appears to be sparcely populated, which doesn't give any comfort to the sparce and unlucky few.

Thanks for your note.
