I think we have had some "good news" and it has been ignored. The market has been driven by technical data, not fundamentals. The good news is that the economy has been growing and that technology revenues have become more stable, and in many cases at higher levels than last year. I wonder how much fundamentals will contribute to the kind of pull back we have from this rally. The bears are looking for a lower low. They are just uncertain if it will be sooner or later. I think we are seeing volatility about the bottom and that fundamental news will determine where in the interval from early October to the rally peak the prices return. I think that it will take another 9/11 type disaster or a tragic miscalculation in a war with Iraq to get us to new lows. I did not expect the lows we reached, so I could still be misreading the severity of the bear.
