Hi Kirk, We just closed up our second best month of the year!! We sold 105 new - out best monthe was Aougust at 106. The surprise was we started out terrible - Then GM came out with zero,zero,zero AND 500 $ bonus cash. Thats right no payments till next year - no interest for 5 years (on 02's - they're almost all gone - more a price leader come on kinf of thing) and $500 to help with Christmas shopping for little Johnny.gg The nicest part was our commercail department woke up.They had been very minimal after 9/11. It way too early to tell - it could have been a fluke but business might be coming back after operating very stringently all year.Many have the money and the deals are better than I've ever imagined - cheap money behind it all. My inventory is near 45 days - almost unsupportable for future momentum. GM has bumped up Q4 production and I must be very aggressive to obtain inventory to support my team.It is a wonderful spot ot be in. Make no mistake Q4 will geta boost from low inventory levels. Having said that my situation is not the norm - I've played it very conservative hoping to be opportunistic during the lean winter and get more than my share of hot product.If you are lean - you can take more of what others who are bloated pass on. Its betting on a come but if it will happen it will be in the next 60-90 days. The sales declines are coming off of all time record sales rates .These rates were inflated from 0.0 going on everything at a time when inventories were swollen - not the case now - 0.0 is applied only on some years/models and inventory is generally lower.
