I didnt mean to suggest that he was doing anything unlawful or unethical by campaigning nonstop in an attempt to have a GOP Senate for the next two years. It's politically courageous, and he has a lot to gain if he is successful. On the other hand, if after going all out to make this election about him, and the candidates he has chosen and backed, he does not succeed, the political damage he will suffer-- both real and perceived -- will be significant. In particular, if the Dems hold on to the Senate, GW shouldn't be looking for Daschle to be doing him any favors on judicial appointments or any other issue he cares about..
