Zonder,

Delivery from the Nazi occupation.

OT - Canadian war story - my maternal grandparents next door neighbors had 5 sons who volunteered at the beginning of the war. 2 died at Dieppe, one was captured (and survived). Another died at Normandy and another lost a leg.

Battalions and Divisions based by Province played hell on small towns and rural areas.

My sons have a very American view of the war and I had to show them the complete battle plan at Normandy to show that while the British had two beaches and the Americans 2, the Canadians had their own - and they had a 10th our population.

John

Monaco Prince Seeks NFL Europe Team

By STEPHEN WADE 11/04/2002 12:33:32 EST

LONDON (AP) - Good ol' smashmouth football in Monte Carlo? It could happen.

Prince Albert of Monaco has approached the NFL about putting a franchise in the
Mediterranean principality, best known as a playground for Europe's rich.

"It would appear there is a door open there," said David Tossell, spokesman for NFL
Europe.

Tossell said any expansion in the NFL's six-team development league was probably
several years away, with 2005 a possible target. He said Monte Carlo was among the
candidates, along with Madrid, Spain; Lyon, France; and perhaps another city in
Germany.

Prince Albert, the heir to the throne held by his father Prince Ranier III, is a member of
the International Olympic Committee and has competed five times in the Winter
Olympics in bobsled.

He suggested the "Monte Carlo Pirates" as a name for the expansion team.

"I'd say it's an interesting possibility at the moment," Tossell said. "I think right now
the attraction is that we have someone there who really wants the team to be there.
That's the No. 1 attraction."

Tossell said a Monte Carlo team would play in the 20,000-seat Louis II stadium, home
of the AS Monaco soccer team.

NFL Europe will have teams next season in Barcelona, Spain; Amsterdam,
Netherlands; Glasgow, Scotland; Berlin and Frankfurt, Germany. The sixth team, the
Rhein Fire, will move temporarily to Gelsenkirchen, Germany, from Duesseldorf.

Tossell said the Fire would play two seasons in Gelsenkirchen while the stadium in
Duesseldorf was being remodeled.
