Well, I guess they are thinking that if they can't delay an honest investigation forever (and classify everything that might disturb the public) then their fall-back position can always be to stage-manage a sham investigation (a la Warren example) at some later date.

They've got little to lose by trying to drag it out as long as possible... like I said, and Iraq war and then decade long 'involvement' along the Tigris might just steal the headlines.

I do not believe that the Warren Commission was a cover up.

Further, I do not believe your rants about the Bush Administration either. For instance, the Bush Administration could have reopened and investigate the claim of the Iraqi / Islamic extremist connection to the Oklahoma City Bombing (John Doe #3) - but they haven't.

Why? Because IMO, the Bush Administration is handling this honestly.
