I understand that our political debates are not, really. Instead, they are exotic television displays. As much as the "independents" bleat like goats about "hearing about the issues" they do not, and wouldn't recognize an issue to save their lives. So Peggy's talent, besides writing sappy speeches, may be analyzing the Freudian effect of a candidate's presentation, as filtered through this relentless electronic mass exposure. Weird as she may be, such exotic details must be attended to, as long as we let all the bovine-eyed idiots in the country vote...
