Golly, your words surely do like that Sashimi, don't they

Yes, they do. I've been trying to break some bad eating habits. As I started following the dietary guidelines a decade or so ago and switched to a Mediterranean type diet, I found that my portion sizes increased and eventually my girth. Unfortunately, I did not recognize that right away but only in retrospect. So I'm now trying to correct my dietary errors.

I'm not someone who can diet. I won't last long feeling deprived all the time. So I've been playing games with my head. I've just stopped eating the foods that I instinctively eat in large quantities, like pasta and pizza, and starting eating either foods with which I have no experience and, therefore, no ingrained bad habits, or foods that inherently support good habits.

Sashimi is a perfect food for that. Sashimi is not an all-you-can-eat food. Sashimi traditionally is a sparsely populated plate of lovingly presented morsels of unembellished raw fish and a bit of unembellished vegetable. That's just the way it's served and my stomach knows that and doesn't expect a lot of food. Also, sashimi is very lo cal. So it's a good diet food for someone who is not receptive to dieting. The only shortcoming is that it's expensive, but I can stand that for a while until I can form new habits. Hopefully, there will come a point where I can eat a slice of pizza at a sitting rather than half a pie.

I'm sure that's much more than you wanted to know. <g>
Good luck with your nap, presentation, family visit, etc.
