That is not correct, Nadine.

Let us take a look at the definition of Zionism, as defined in the "Jewish Virtual Library - A Division of the American-Israeli Cooperative Enterprise":

Zionism [is] the national movement for the return of the Jewish people to their homeland and the resumption of Jewish sovereignty in the Land of Israel

So "friendly to Zionism" would NOT be "Believing that Israel is a legitimate state with as much right to exist as its neighbors", as you have stated, but rather believing in the right of all Jewish people anywhere on this planet to to RETURN and live in Israel.

The underlying problem there, in my humble opinion, is that for more Jewish people to come and settle in Israel, you will need more settlements in Palestinian land.

I just don't see how one can be "friendly to Zionism" as inviting all Jewish people on earth to come live in Israel so clearly means the methodical theft of land from neighbouring countries, unless, of course one is heartless and/or an avid supporter of Sharon politics.
