"No, I don't think one is defined by one's recreations." Well you are clearly mistaken then. Character is rarely defined buy the routines of one's day. It is the momentary and often unexpected event that pops up and challenges you while away from the pat events of your life. The prisons are full of people who behaved in an extreme manner while out on a Saturday night. Is a murderer defined buy the moment he decided to thrust his knife at another? Is a hero defined by the moment that he stepped in front of the knife wielding murderer? Is the spose abuser defined by his loss of temper while packing the picnic basket? Is the poor sport defined by his tantrum when the score goes to the opposing team? Denial does not erase the problem. It only casts a thinly vieled obstacle over it; It darkens it a bit, deepens its tone, and creates the shadow of mystery about self destruction.
