"I do believe the world would be a better place if women were more or less in charge and then we could be retired to stud services."

Several guys around here launched that idea a while back. They say it gets cold in those card board boxes under the bridge.

The only problem with that is that stud services only keep about one male per 20 or more females. The rest are gelded or turned into steers.

And with cattle, at least, artificial insemination is replacing the real thing anyhow.

So I'm not sure I would be real happy under that option.

People who want to replace God at every step of the way have an ulterior motive
of substituting their idea of right and wrong which is equally bad as a state religion.

That's an interesting point which I don't think gets enough attention.

In our system of law, most of the substantive laws we have arise at least in part from the moral standards handed down through the Judeo-Christian tradition.

fIt's not immediately clear whether these are religious precepts because they were societial precepts before there was any concept of or recognition of God (depending on whether you view God as existent or not) or whether they were imposed under the veil of religion to overcome and tame less acceptable behaviors.

if the former, then we could presumably dispense with religion as a guiding social principle and return to a purely ethical moral base.

if the latter, that process might not be nearly as desirable.

"Solon is bitter because God is not quite his idea of Santa Claus"

You've made that silly remark before. The remark is still silly, and so are you.
