Well I have Outlook Express and I delete many emails that I never open by just highlighting - it doesn't open it unless I double click on the message.

Yes. True.

Nothing gets to my e-mail client, however, till I've screened it, deleted it from my ISP's server, or deleted it from my ISP's server and "bounced it".

I use freeware called MailWasher to manage this.

Nothing I've found is easier or better.
