The HUGE increase in federal revenue brought about by the Reagan tax cut lasted into the late Clinton years (when, of course, he took credit for it). It was not followed by another HUGE tax cut in those late Clinton years, so Clinton, in effect blew the Reagan boom.

The deflation that has threatened us since then REQUIRES another tax cut-bigger than 2001.

You would never want a national sales tax without some way to control spending. Every tenth of a point in rate increase raises a ton of cash.
