got what I needed on the Ourlook Express problem, and I really appreciate the help

moving on to another subject ======

had a pm asking how I'd done with the wireless network in the office move ...

I considered everything involved
and decided that security might pose a problem,
so I just drilled a hole in the ceiling above the single machine downstairs ...

that box is in my wife's office, and the desk has a hutch which reaches nearly to the ceiling
so, I just rearranged the ivy she had on the top a wee bit to hide the wire
and didn't bother to tell her there was a NEW hole in the ceiling .....

when I did fess up ... she just laughed and said I'd done a good job with the plant as she'd not even noticed .... hehehehe

attic is mostly all floored so I had little difficulty with access .... ran the single Cat5 cable from that box to the router located at the upstairs desk ....

left three outlets on the router to use for the four boxes upstairs, so I used one each to the trading machine, to the charting machine and took the other to a four outlet hub .... one from there to the email box and one to the internet machine (don't use them both at the same time, so no difficulty there)....

did purchase a new Belkin DSL/Cable router from Office Max for 29bucjs ***(cheap sucker, no?) and did away with my D-Link two year old router .... had the Hawking hub in the spare parts bin ....
and
I just about used up my Cat5 cable inventory ...

so I replenished my stash from here .....
pccables.com
good site with CHEAP prices and fine service ---

betcha most here on the thread had no idea one could purchase a three foot CAT5 cable for less than a buck ...

oh yeah ...
whilst I was shopping, I came across a wireless keyboard/mouse deal from NewEgg.com ....
ordered one of those too ......

started to order a couple of them, but near as I could determine the close proximity of all my machines would preclude me from using more than one ...
seemed to operate on "channel 2" with no identified method to change .....

any of you learned folks here know if that is the case ?????
