But that would, as a side effect, nullify the deals US airlines got going into Europe, right? I would think they would find that highly distrubing. And push on the gov't to DO SOMETHING. Given that the EU high court barred their previous approach, they might actually have to come up with something like Open Skies. In other times I would agree. But the airline industry is in dire shapes. Why would the Administration open new airline routes in the US to foreign carriers? I suspect that's why the Administration ceased negotiating with other countries under Open Skies. They even turned down the UK earlier this year. Our best buds. jttmab
