I beg to differ. It has been a while now that the US is the only world superpower after the spectacular collapse of the Soviet Empire. However, up until this point, the US was perceived as the benevolent giant - very powerful but benign and just.

Good luck going back to that image. I expect it will be a long and difficult process, if at all possible.
