Heartily Agree Bob; The Sheiks and Mullahs are fixated on spending to suppress freedom, enhanceing their miserable brand of hegemony over populations. Encouraging Suicide within a population, whats up with that? Speaks to the Quality of leadership; ie everyone is fodder, without potential or value. These are the values imposed on these societies. Meanwhile our melting pot is diligently paying attention to all kinds of new and exciting ways to do things. Hydrogen fuel cells, nano particles and composite structures, hey were busy trying to make a better world.
