Will, based on what I have read about the sophisticated tax 'avoidance' packages that some of the accounting firms have been selling, I really fall on the side of the IRS commish here. Hell, just collecting from some of these slimeball execs like Tyco's would make a nice dent in the IRS's budget. I agree that government agencies 'mismanage', but I also believe the IRS could 'pay for itself' thru better collections. It's interesting that some numbers I've seen have shown they have tended to go after the 'easier' cases and wage earners in the past, (audit rates) although under Rosotti this started to change.

Best regards,
John
