I see little to no chance of a national sales tax, other the the current type of excise taxes we see on tobacco and gasoline. A flat income tax just became a real possibility, with an exemption for the first $x.

I should point out a problem with the flat tax; it will play havoc with the tax-exempt bond markets, and severely compromise the ability of states, cities and local municipalities to finance capital projects. I'm not sure what the answer is.

Your right, that was not in there. Your point is valid but I would like to see anything besides the unfair taxation we have now.
