Corning Making To Expand Its LCD Glass Capacity
Tuesday November 5, 9:37 am ET

CORNING, N.Y. -(Dow Jones)- Corning Inc. (NYSE:GLW - News) plans a "major" expansion project at its Taiwan
manufacturing plant, adding melting and forming lines for the production of LCD glass.

In a press release Tuesday, the optical fiber, cable and photonic products maker said it plans to begin construction of
the melting operation at its plant in the Tainan Science-based Industrial Park in the first quarter of 2003 and expects
to produce large generation glass sheets by early 2004.

Following the expansion, Corning's Taiwan plant will be a fully integrated LCD glass manufacturing facility.
GNSS has been strong and looks to be getting stronger - they make chips for flat panel displays. larry
