Some very interesting trading today G. Volume is pretty high with most of the major averages struggling to stay up but the broader up/down volume is strongly higher:

13:00 ET Dow -9, Nasdaq -3, S&P -2.64: [BRIEFING.COM] The choppy trading activity for the market persists with the averages currently edging higher off of the midday lows. Although positive in early dealings following the election/resignation news, traders clearly did not want to substantially increase positions prior to the Fed announcement. The Treasury market has improved as equities weakened while the dollar, like stocks, slipped after an early run. Volume is on a modestly heavy pace with market internals maintaining a favorable bias despite the dip into the red by the averages. SOX +0.1%... DOT -0.4%... XOI -1.3%... BTK -1.3%... NYSE Adv/Dec 1766/1362... Nasdaq Adv/Dec 1707/1368.

I am wondering if institutions are lowering their positions before the FED and CSCO tonight while the retail buyer is still buying?
