The Randians who took over the flag of her philosophy, are (imo) a little twisted. Mainly because they became even more fanatical about how they were promoting it. I believe that at the time, such thinking was too advanced for her time, yet she saw clearly what was coming... and... slowly and ironically.... it is becoming a reality, since frankly, most societies in our planet are either bankrupt, idiotical, tyrannical, basket cases or... like ours, becoming increasingly, completely ABSURD. Because my interest in Rand, I have met quite a few, very unique characters who at one time or another have wanted to start their own "Dry Gulch" (i.e. their own country)... And they are damned serious. The Internet gave new power to their dreams.... Don't discount them as mere kookoos... these guys are real and have lots of mulah, they are very productive and imaginative... --and very fun to be with -lol (nevertheless... quite crazy too, my two main arguments with them have been my lack of belief in gold as a currency backer and their extreme views in certain points in re: government) btw... you knew that Uncle Al, was (still is) one of her strongest followers/supporters. He wrote a number if essays published under her cover and with her own books. On the other hand... I like Henry Louis Mencken. He had more practical views.. still, too strong for the great majority who seemingly, cannot be weaned from the tit of religion and/or that of government. Mencken is also a lot more entertaining to read... makes you laugh a lot.
