Best ideas - Tax reductions (OK it is happening but slowly and only small rate reductions). Free Trade (not totally supported by either part but supported by elements of both so it may not be the best example of what I am talking about), Free speech (see the comments after free trade), Education reform (complex issue that will get nowhere in a gridlock system, of course it is mainly a state and local responsibility but reforms can be blocked or encouraged by the federal government).

ANd remember, you don't get to pick and choose. This is a package deal.

In terms of who is in power it is a package deal but not it isn't a package deal in the sense that I expressed it. (That both parties have some good ideas that go nowhere with divided government).

Now that I think about it the majority of the ideas I listed are supported by some of each party but not a strong majority of either while some are supported by the Republicans, so despite talking about good ideas from both parties I am having a problem thinking about good ideas that are supported by most Democrats and very few Republicans.

What are the bad ideas that you think gridlock will block?
