Good points but imbalanced perspective.

You say "Plus you could spend all that money from building and maintaining prisons, on schools, and child welfare, and substance abuse programs."

". No response cited any study that showed the benefits of drug prohibition (Ostrowski 2).

Nice!!!

There is a domestic violence treatment center near here. The only people who are assigned are the light weight criminal offenders. What percentage do you figure were loaded when they offended? Pretty close to 100%. And we are not even talking about people arrested on drug charges.

"Plus you could spend all that money..." ....building more and more prisons and more and more programs

I know a family where the parents don't drink and visitors don't drink. The children don't use or abuse illegal substances either.

If you prohibited this family (by law) from using and abusing, there would probably be no significant reduction in irresponsible or criminal behavior associated with intoxication.

Did I help prove your point.

I have spoken to plenty of people who admit they got into trouble due to excesses while they were loaded. Do ya spose if they were prohibited from using it would make a difference?

How about you just stop blaming the govt and other enabling behavior and hold people more personally accountable. Well, then we wouldn't need laws I guess. You must secretly like police states.
