Many years ago my work was focused on helping "at risk" youth. Of course chemical use and abuse was almost universal in the population. I would have the kids write in their journals once a day. I offered a list of topics or they could just write whatever they wanted. One of the favorite topics was a "Back to the Future" topic. If you could go to the future what would you like to do that would help your kids. It was very common for the youth in the program to want to have chemical use/abuse eliminated from the future environment for their kids. I never saw a journal entry that had the opposite point of view.

They would publicly argue for legalization and freedom to use at their own discretion. I, however, found the journal entries very revealing and contradictory.
