That is a good point. Boyd points out that perhaps some of the old line thinkers may be shamed into new thinking regarding this subject?
Either way, this research will not stop, the issue is funding.
We are, after all, supposed to have a secular govt....

I think only the hard right.

Repubs will have to appeal to moderates, and independents
also - if they want to stay in power, with this razor
thin margin.

I've voted for both parties over time. If they go to the
extreme, they are more likely to lose in 2004 and later.

I think that for Bush to have a chance in 2004, he needs
to appeal to moderates, and suburban voters, including
independents - which tend to be very libertarian on these
type of issues.

And - Bush was for using existing stem cell lines for research. The research will go on, as it is too important
an area to ignore...
