The Jewish people started getting away from Old Testament literalism about 1000 years ago, when the Temple in Jerusalem was destroyed for the second time and the Diaspora began in earnest. (For example, a very important part of their rituals was animal sacrifice brought to the Temple, and when there was no Temple, well, eventually they found symbolic equivalents.) The Israeli government is not based on the Torah, and Jewish people do not in general find conflict between their religious practices and the governments of the countries in which they live. Many Muslims, in particular the Islamists, do - they want to overthrow secular representative democracies and replace them with government by shari'a, and most Muslim countries have laws that are based at least in part on the Koran. That's not propaganda - that's what they are doing NOW.

Or is the Jew-Arab Moslem issue going to be a perpetual case of the pot calling the kettle black?

IMO, it goes all the way back to the two sons of Abraham; Isaac and Ishmael.

After so many eons, you'd think that God would have caused what He wished to happen to happen by now.
