He did not. There is no record of Bush Jr. ever setting a foot in a National Guard air base. In all likelihood his father pulled a few strings and got him off.

Ironically all those self-righteous right wingers who were upset about "draft-dodger" Clinton are quiet about Bush. Even though in the end, after avoding the draft for a year using his college exemption (instead of daddy's connections) Slick Willy actually volunteered to renounce his college exemption and enlist.

Goes to show that perception is what matters, not reality.
