TI-RMTR-FRAM news.

My guess is that this will either draw a raft of: "Oh yeah? Well we can do 128Mb FRAMS!" ...Or a bunch of: "Oh yeah? That's not so hot. We can stack our standard SRAM, DRAM, PROMS and Flash for even less cost and much higher densities!" ...Or perhaps another round of: "We think MRAM is much cheaper to produce, scales better and will dominate the market at higher densities."<Hoo><Hoo>

Too bad about the 2005 time frame for the planned move to 0.90 and use of embedded FRAM. Of course its unstated as to when RMTR will begin to get the stand alone foundry units in payment. In any case, I'll wager it takes until 2005 to line up design wins ready to ramp a 4-64Mb FRAM product line.

This should get us a healthy pop in price. Maybe even a million share day by Monday. But resulting revenues have to be 18-24 months out. Will it bring the MoMo's in to stay?

Perhaps a few, ...but I don't think the whole herd will be willing to rest in this pasture for long.<Hoo><Hoo>
