Art, Why don't you go play on this thread - Subject 51755
It's moderated, so all you Bush hating types can have a ball without having to face reality.

>> It [Bush team] doesn't know how to run the economy, other than into debt, because it can't, just can't be comfortable not giving special treatment to special interests.

Post 9/11, do you think it would've been any different under a Democrat President? 9/11 devastated an economy that was already in decline during Clinton's administration. As a result, tax revenues declined, there were additional demands for defense and home security spending, and the need for economic stimulus spending. The Bush team did not cause the problems leading to the current deficit.

>>It has adopted budget measures that result in heavier local taxes,

Not necessarily a bad thing. The federal government bureaucracy is inherently inefficient. Better that the federal government tax and spend for *federal* projects, and leave local projects to local taxes. That will get rid of a lot of the pork barrel spending that comes out of DC.

>>I've only seen worse stuff, as exemplified by the mess at the SEC and the DIRECT IMPACT on investors, including investors who participate in these discussions.

Again, most of the problems in corporate governance and failed SEC oversight began long before Bush took office, yet they have come to light and are being dealt with on his watch.

>>I haven't seen anything that would change my mind.

With your mind set, I doubt that you ever will.

Hey, Art Belchfart, yadda, yadda, yadda... your argument is shallow and transparent...

>>I don't expect anything intelligent from guys who can't even spell my name correctly.<<

Yeah, so, who cares? BTW, you begin your whole arguement with the way W pronounces a word, and then you say it's the least of your concerns... you're really hung up on spellings and articulations, you really need to lighten up before you blow a fuse... I bet you have high blood pressure, don't you...
