jri, thanks for the feedback & the link. pessimism is the common theme on si these days. i think the pendulum has swung too far the other way in the last 6 months & this is my basis for optimism. although i play both sides - sell covered calls at/near resistance points and sell naked puts at/near support levels - i am fundamentally an optimist, albeit poorer, than i was 3 years ago. however, i only invest in blue chips & stay away from small caps. that's why my continued investments in msft & dell have panned out very well. i've got some links that i'll send you in the next day or 2. regards, gabriel
