Verizon probably has better equipment at their CO for one thing. Also Verizon ISP has been pretty persistent about upgrading their software which helps.

while I had the tech person on the phone I accidently hit my reset
button on the computer - I had to wait until it re-booted. When it came back on, the router was configured (on both computers) and
the internet connection was there - GO FIGURE!

neat when that happens, eh?
