Don't include foreign aid to Israel. That's part of the problem. That's for sure. An absolutely counterproductive exercise in putting our national finger into the M.E. lightsocket. It only encouraged militarism rather than negotiation. I spent a few months in Israel after the '67 war, and got my fill. I love the culture, and they are world-class soldiers, but have no use for thousand-year blood feuds. If they melted into a highly educated wealthy subset of an Arab region, it wouldn't bother me a bit. I wish I lived on your planet. Things seem so much simpler and cleaner there. No nasty politics and contending interests and bribery and rabble rousing and con artists trying to gain mass sympathy so they can pick your pocket legally LOL! I wish. Since Junior's ascension I see more organized and much less responsive gov't and all the venal parasites circling faster these days... My goal is to depression-proof my business, protect me and mine from the inevitable upswing in corporate crime, monopolist prices, government lies, confiscation, and 1929-style depression. Back in the 60s you used to hear "back to the land". Now it's "back to the land and build a bunker"...
