but depending on commissions that people have to pay, tvx might end up being cheaper...1000 shares of tvx for me is a lot less commission than 10000 shares of kinross...

I can't believe arbitragers in the market won't annihilate that opportunity. There must be some small cost involved for converting TVX and ECO to KGC shares after M&A, or something like it.
