Hussein in a corner.

You're assuming the UNSC resolution passes.

If it does, what will he do? Depends on whether he's in a funk or in a grandiose state of mind.

He's been in a funk recently, sending back archives to Kuwait, releasing political prisoners, amnesty to military deserters. Other clumsy overtures to those he's previously offended.

Mind you, the intention doesn't change, ever: victory for Saddam, the dictator (when he's in a funk), or victory for Saddam, the New Saladin (when he's grandiose).

He'll say he will cooperate.

But I expect at some point he'll see something in what US or UN says or does and he'll be up again, and the fat will be in the fire.

Personally, if I were a member of the entourage, I'd find urgent health problems that would keep me in a Swiss clinic for the next few months. I expect it's not too comfortable being near him these days.
