From Briefing.com: SWKS Skyworks upgraded at Needham (8.01) Needham upgrades to BUY from Hold based on a higher level of comfort regarding its financial position as well as its leadership position as a wireless handset chip supplier. Price target is $11.

IFX Infineon posts wider than expected loss, issues cautious comments (10.32) Co posted a wider than expected Q4 loss and and was cautious about the prospects for a turnaround in the semi industry: "The market outlook for the coming months shows no clear signs of a sustained improvement in demand yet... we expect continued pricing pressure in the months ahead... despite the current increase in demand and prices for memory products, it is too early to assume a sustained mkt improvement."

NVDA NVIDIA cut to Sell at Prudential; target is $9 (14.55) -- Update -- Prudential downgrades to SELL from Hold following earnings that came in at the low end of expectations; while the NV30 launch at Comdex (week of Nov 18) will likely be a positive catalyst for the shares, firm believes NVDA's vulnerability is in the mainstream segment of the mkt for spring 2003, as competitor ATYT starts to take its high-end leadership down to the higher volume segments. Price target is $9.

UN Security Council vote at 10 ET The UN Security Council is expected to vote on a new Iraq resolution at 10 ET; France has now indicated that it will vote for the new resolution, while Russia is a question mark but is not expected to vote against it.

S&P futures vs fair value: +2.0. Nasdaq futures vs fair value: +3.0.

Positive leaning in the futures market suggests the equity market should recoup a portion of yesterday's losses, albeit a small portion, when trading begins... Treasury market, meanwhile, is continuing its good move to a flatter curve with the bond up nearly a point at 4.83% while the 10-yr note is up 14 ticks sending its yield to 3.84%
